We can conduct testing in accordance with BS EN15426 (2018) to check that your candles comply with this CEN standard as regards sooting behaviour.  Meeting the requirements of this standard can help show due diligence in complying with the UK General Product Safety Directive (GPSD) and is often required by retailers.

To pass this test, your candles must have an average soot index per hour of less than 1.0.

Requirements:  In order to test your candles to EN 15426 (2018), we require 3 x finished candles.  The candles should be packaged as they will be sold, including any usage instructions/labels.

Test Duration:  Please note, EN 154426 (2018) is only applicable to single wick candles.  There is currently no soot test standard for multi-wick candles.  The lead time for soot testing is typically 5 working days following receipt of the candles.

Costs:  The cost of this test is £110+vat per candle size/fragrance.

Report:  A test report will be emailed in PDF format.  We aim to have reports compiled and sent within 5 working days of test completion.
